Mobile Plant and Diesel Mechanic – Central Qld

VE Group is seeking experienced and qualified Mobile Plant & Diesel Mechanic, who holds trade certification and general construction card. The role involves working on various sites around Central Queensland (Emerald, Clermont) and in our Gladstone and Moura Workshop. The position is Full-time with the opportunity to work with the latest equipment and technology within a diverse and ever-growing business.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and working in a dynamic and supportive team environment, will carry out maintenance and repairs on our Late Model Caterpillar Earthmoving Fleet and late model Kenworth Trucks and various trailers.

Tickets and Licences

• Trade qualified in a mechanical discipline.
• General Construction Card (Blue or White Card)
• Current drivers’ licence, MR as minimum with HC preferred.
• Licence to Perform HRW – Fork lift, highly regarded highly regarded not essential.
• Automotive mechanical – Air conditioning certified, highly regarded not essential.

Skills and experience

• Service, maintenance, fault diagnoses and repairs to Caterpillar earthmoving equipment
• Competency in computer technology and diagnosis software, including CAT ET, SIS 2.0 and Cummins Configuration Tool.
• Clear communication skills both written and verbal.
• Highly focused on workplace health and safety, workmanship, and an understanding of the level of service we provide to our clients.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise your tasks, demonstrating your strong time management skills.
• You would be comfortable working in a team environment or minimal supervision.
• Flexible with day, afternoon and weekend shifts when required.
• Experience in Air Conditioning Repairs, Auto-electrical repairs preferred but not essential.
• The ability to pass a pre-employment medical consisting of drug and alcohol testing are required.

Position base is flexible either out of Gladstone or Moura, however any Central Queensland bases will be considered.  Immediate start – competitive wage, service vehicle supplied and opportunity for future career development.
