PROJECT OVERVIEW
VE Group was engaged to deliver vegetation management services at Gatton Prison. The project involved large-scale clearing, mulching and waste removal to improve site access, manage woody weed infestations and restore environmental compliance. Works were executed in line with statutory requirements, incorporating cultural heritage protocols, environmental controls and safe work practices.
SCOPE OF WORKS
- Pre-start site assessment, GPS mapping and exclusion zone identification
- Clearing and mulching of woody weeds, regrowth and dead timber
(<200 mm DBH) Ø On-site mulching and spreading to stabilise soil and minimise erosion
- Removal and disposal of dumped waste (including vehicles, household debris and regulated waste) at licensed facilities
- Weed and seed inspections and certification for machinery and vehicles Ø Implementation of erosion, sediment and environmental controls
- Cultural heritage management and stop-work procedures where required Ø Final clean-up, reinstatement and closeout reporting (with GPS records, photographs and waste tracking certificates)
