VE Group AU are a Civil Contracting, Plant Hire and Transport Logistics Company looking for a Group Asset Manager to join Senior Leadership & Maintenance Team. VE Group currently provides services across several industry sectors such as roads, rail and resources with a large, owned plant fleet of civil and transport equipment working throughout Queensland.

As VE Group’s Group Asset Manager, you will be responsible for managing all companies’ assets from the asset acquisition, the day-to-day maintenance of the asset portfolio. Reporting directly to the General Manager you will also work closely with the company’s Director, Maintenance Co-ordinators, and Operations Team.

The role encompasses the following responsibilities: 

  • Monitor asset performance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop strategies to increase ROI and mitigate risk and losses.
  • Prepares and submits annual division operating budgets to the General Manager.
  • Directs the division, ensuring current budget and cost objectives are achieved, while maintaining superior service to VE Group operations and legislative compliance obligations.
  • Ensures timely preparation of the division’s financial performance reports for monthly Management Meetings.
  • Responsible for asset maintenance plan optimisation through analysis and best practices.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Tertiary degree or Diploma (or relevant experience) in Asset Management, Business, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Exposure to capital works preferable within a civil or transport industry.
  • Min. 5 years’ experience in asset management, maintenance planning, scheduling, and processes
  • Sound understanding of financial processes with maintenance activities.
  • Advance Excel or spreadsheet skills
  • Excellent consultation and communications with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work with asset management tools, systems, and processes.
  • Exceptional communicator, effective people management and professional presentation
  • Current Drivers Licence
